In this
sentence, ˉsheˇ is used to represent Mary and ˉherˇ is also used to refer to what
belongs to Mary.
Five
Types of Personal Pronouns
There
are 5 types of personal pronouns. If
you know how to use a pronoun of a particular type, you should be able to use all
other pronouns of the same type.
For example, if you know how to use ˉmyselfˇ, you should be able to use
ˉyourself, yourselves, himself and herselfˇ correctly!
First
Three Types of Pronouns
Here
are the first three types of pronouns. We will talk about the other two types
of pronouns later.
Subject
pronouns are used to represent subject nouns in a sentence.
e.g. My mother is a good cook. She
always cooks delicious food for us.
Object Pronouns are used to represent object nouns in a
sentence.
e.g. We love our mother,
yes, we love her.
Adjective Pronouns are used as adjectives and placed in front
of nouns.
e.g. I like my little pussy, but not your
black dog!
